Vittorio Schettino: From Latin Competitor to Teacher & Anita Flavina Napoli Ambassador

VITTORIO SCHETTINO: FROM LATIN COMPETITOR TO TEACHER & ANITA FLAVINA NAPOLI AMBASSADOR

Meet Vittorio Schettino, a 26-year-old Italian Latin American dance teacher, former competitive dancer, event organiser and Anita Flavina Napoli Ambassador.

After years spent competing on national and international dance floors, Vittorio now shares his experience with a new generation of dancers.

His journey has given him a deep understanding of something that lies at the heart of Latin dancing: the relationship between technique, emotion and a dancer’s connection to the floor.

For Vittorio, everything starts from the feet.

Vittorio Schettino: A Life Through Latin Dance

For Vittorio, dance has never simply been about learning steps.

It is about discipline, sacrifice, technique, emotion and the constant pursuit of improvement.

For years, he dedicated himself to competitive Latin American dancing, performing on national and international dance floors and experiencing first-hand the demands placed on a competitive dancer.

Training, travelling and performing became part of his life.

Until the age of 24, competition taught Vittorio to pay attention to every detail because in Latin dancing, even a small technical adjustment can transform the quality and expression of a performance.

Foot placement.
Balance.
Weight transfer.
Musicality.
Connection with the floor.

Years of competition developed Vittorio’s understanding of balance, weight transfer, musicality and connection to the floor.

These technical foundations give a dancer the freedom to do something equally important:

express the music and the emotion of the dance.

Today, at 26, Vittorio has taken everything he learned through competition and brought it into a new chapter of his life — teaching Latin American dance and helping develop the next generation of dancers.

From Competitive Dancer to Latin Dance Teacher

For Vittorio, becoming a teacher was a natural evolution.

The competitive chapter may have changed, but his relationship with dance never did.

Teaching now allows him to pass on everything years of training and competition gave him — not only steps and choreography, but also discipline, body awareness, technique and respect for movement.

Technique creates the foundation; musicality and emotion bring the dance to life.

His students learn how to use the floor.

How to transfer weight.

How to create movement through the feet.

How to control the body while still allowing the movement to breathe.

And ultimately, how to develop enough confidence in their technique that they can stop thinking about every individual movement and begin to feel and express the dance.

That philosophy has also influenced the way Vittorio thinks about dance shoes.

Everything Starts From Your Feet

Latin dancing places extraordinary demands on the feet.

Changes of direction, spins, turns, pressure through the floor and precise weight transfers all begin from the same place:

the dancer’s connection with the floor.

For Vittorio, a good pair of dance shoes should therefore feel almost like an extension of the foot.

For Vittorio, everything starts with the dancer’s connection to the floor.

They should provide support without unnecessarily restricting movement.

They should offer stability while still allowing the foot to articulate naturally.

And they should allow the dancer to feel the floor beneath them.

When the dancer can trust what is underneath their feet, technique becomes more secure.

And when technique feels secure, the dancer has greater freedom to focus on musicality, partnership and emotional expression.

This is what Vittorio values in Anita Flavina Dance Shoes.

Why Vittorio Chooses Anita Flavina Dance Shoes

One of the first qualities Vittorio notices when wearing Anita Flavina is simple:

softness.

A dance shoe can look beautiful, but for somebody who spends hours training, teaching or performing, appearance alone is never enough.

The shoe has to feel right.

For Vittorio, the softness and flexibility of his Anita Flavina shoes allow his feet to work naturally while maintaining the stability and support required for Latin movement.

Rather than feeling rigid or becoming a distraction, the shoe works with the foot.

That difference becomes particularly noticeable during long periods of dancing.

Because comfort does something important for a dancer:

it allows you to stop thinking about your shoes.

And when you stop thinking about your shoes, you can concentrate on what really matters.

The floor.

The music.

Your partner.

Your technique.

And the emotion you want to communicate through the dance.

More Than a Dancer: Vittorio the Event Organiser

Vittorio’s relationship with dance does not end when a lesson finishes.

Alongside teaching, he is also an event organiser, giving him another perspective on what dancers need from their footwear.

During a dance event, people may spend many hours on their feet — taking lessons, practising, socialising and, of course, dancing.

Something that feels acceptable for a few minutes can feel completely different after several hours.

For Vittorio, this makes comfort one of the most important qualities a dance shoe can offer.

It is also one of the reasons he feels confident introducing Anita Flavina Dance Shoes to the dancers around him.

When you invite dancers onto your floor, you want them to enjoy the experience.

You want them thinking about the music.

Their partner.

Their movement.

And the experience of dancing.

Not uncomfortable feet.

Dance Shoes Made for Long Days on the Floor

A competition performance may last only a few minutes.

A dancer’s day does not.

Private lessons, group classes, training sessions, workshops and events can mean spending many hours wearing dance shoes.

This is where Vittorio believes quality becomes particularly noticeable.

A shoe needs to accompany the dancer rather than work against them.

For Vittorio, Anita Flavina represents a combination of qualities that matter throughout those long days:

Comfort.
Softness.
Flexibility.
Stability.
Balance.
Quality.

Together with Italian craftsmanship, these qualities create dance shoes designed not only for the moment the dancer performs, but for all the hours of work that make that performance possible.

After years of competition, Vittorio knows how important it is to trust what is underneath your feet.

And as a teacher, that is something he wants his students to understand too.

From Wearing Anita Flavina to Representing the Brand in Napoli

Vittorio’s relationship with Anita Flavina has now developed into something more becoming an Ambassador for Anita Flavina Dance Shoes.

Today he is the Anita Flavina Napoli Ambassador, becoming a local point of reference for dancers and students in Naples and throughout Campania who want to discover the brand.

Vittorio helps dancers with their Anita Flavina orders and introduces the collection to the dance community around him.

But for Vittorio, being an Ambassador is about much more than selling a pair of dance shoes.

It is about recommending something he genuinely believes can support a dancer.

As a former competitor, he understands performance.

As a teacher, he understands technique and the development of dancers.

And as an event organiser, he understands what it means to spend hour after hour on a dance floor.

Those three perspectives now come together in his relationship with Anita Flavina.

Vittorio’s Philosophy: Forget the Shoes. Feel the Dance.

Years of dancing have taught Vittorio that the best equipment should help a dancer express themselves — not distract them.

When your feet feel comfortable, supported and connected to the floor, something changes.

From competitor to teacher, Vittorio’s connection with dance continues — and everything begins from the feet.

You stop worrying about what is underneath you.

You listen to the music.

You feel your body.

You connect with your partner.

Your technique supports you rather than occupying your thoughts.

And that creates space for something greater:

emotion.

For Vittorio, that is ultimately what a great dance shoe should achieve.

It should allow you to forget that you are wearing it and concentrate completely on dancing.

From national and international competition floors to teaching the next generation, from organising dance events to representing Anita Flavina in Napoli, Vittorio’s journey continues to evolve.

But the foundation remains the same.

The music begins.
The dancer moves.
And everything starts from the feet.
