The Evening of The Ice Ball 2021

On Saturday 27th November, we were honoured to sponsor an event of
magnificence.

Hosted by Martina & Michael Burton, The Ice Ball Competition 2021 was held
at The Old Town Hall in Chelsea, London. The venue was truly a charming fit
for the event; the grade II, Late Victorian building emulated the most divine
elegance. The interior includes vaulted ceilings, old wood panelling, marble
columns and an array of original oil paintings.
.
We were honoured and excited to be able to set up our stand with a small
display of our dance shoes in such a beautiful setting - especially seeing as
this was the first time we had exhibited for a competition since before our first
lockdown! What an incredible place to realign with our dance world and share
our passion to equip dancers with comfortable and stable (yet) luxurious
dance shoes.
.
The day had begun with warm-up sessions as early as 8:30am, followed by
some Single Dances, Dance Scholarships and Awards’ Presentation, of
course in the signature room of the venue: The Main Hall.
.
As the afternoon turned to early evening, a Champagne Reception took place
in the sophistication of the Cadogan Suite. The sheer happiness in the room
could not be missed, with glasses clinking, conversation flowing and an
exceptional addition of hors d’oeuvres. It was clear to see that the event was
highly anticipated; everyone dressed to the nines in a glamorous display of
ballgowns and bowties.

Straight after the Champagne Reception, it was back to the dancefloor for the
evening session to commence. The polished Pro-Am couples did not
disappoint and the talent in the room was immense. From Ballroom to Latin,
American Smooth to American Rhythm, all couples that took part danced like
they had a point to prove. It was a joy to witness proud families and friends
able to watch their loved ones compete, perhaps some for the first time in
years.
.
I could not discuss the dancing without mentioning the array of captivating
looks from the couples. Hair and make-up perfectly in place and too many
beautiful dresses to mention. This was truly a breath-taking scenery.
.
Our best dressed acknowledgement must go to Jackie Stevenson, of whom
never fails to impress us with her sophisticated looks.

In the midst of the Open Amateur section and prior to the Presentation of
Awards, the Professional Latin Showcase hit – in the name of 2x British
National Professional Showdance Champions: Anton Sboev and Patrizia
Ranis - and the room was enlivened with a buzz of energy. They were
carefully co-ordinated: in peacock-feather-like outfits with large gemstones
around the neckline; dressed to perform, and of course they did so in perfect
synchronisation. Their magnetic energy was unmatched, setting the floor on
fire with their fast-feet and powerful posture. All-in-all, a brilliant couple to not
only entertain, but evoke inspiration.
.
All throughout, The Main Hall was filled with laughter, glee and animation.
Since returning to the dancefloor after lockdown, it is evident that the dance
world has grown closer than ever; everyone is grateful to be able to unite in
the same space and do what they all love: dance.
We would like to give congratulations to the couples that danced their way into
placing within the top rankings, and a huge applause to all the incredible
competitors that took to the floor and made The Ice Ball such a night to
remember – especially those wearing Anita Flavina Dance Shoes!
.
We would – of course - like to give a heartfelt thank you to Michael & Martina
Burton for all their hard-work and dedication they had evidently put into the
spectacular event.

Roll on The Ice Ball 2022!
